New proton form factors results from A1@MAMI
ORAL
Abstract
The extensive A1@MAMI data set on electron-proton scattering has recently been extended with additional measurements using the beam energies available with MAMI C. The new data set overlaps the earlier kinematics reach and extends it to beam energies of 1508 MeV, covering Q2 up to 2 GeV2. In the talk, I will discuss the experiment extension and the result of a fit of the combined data set to extract the electric and magnetic form factor of the proton. The fit predicts a form factor ratio closer to the linear fall-off seen in polarized experiments, compared to earlier fits of unpolarized data.
