Merger-Ringdown Modeling of Gravitational Waves Beyond the Dominant Mode

Abstract
The accurate modeling of gravitational waves beyond the dominant mode is critical to fully exploit the information future gravitational wave detectors will provide. We use the Backwards One Body (BOB) approach to merger and ringdown modeling to model higher modes, including determining the difference in time between the peak amplitudes of different modes. Furthermore, we investigate how incorporating information about the initial parameters of the binary into BOB can improve our modeling and help connect it to inspiral approximants.
