Inflation with Torsion
ORAL
Abstract
In this talk, I will present the relationship between cosmic inflation, a time of fast exponential expansion in the early cosmos, and torsion. We consider the consequences of adding torsion to Nieh-Yan gravity, a modified gravity theory that adds torsion through the first principles. In particular, I will discuss the role of torsion in causing parity violation in the inflationary gravitational wave production. We highlight the distinctive chiral signals in these waves by analysing the tensor power spectrum, which may offer a fresh observational window into the early universe's mechanics.
