Wideband current transformer

Current transformers provide accurate isolated measurement of ac and pulse currents. In a follow-on to Waters’ 1986 paper, we present a terminated current transformer model that includes winding resistance, internal-termination inductance, and stray capacitance in the discussion. Analytic results are presented for ac current and rectangular pulse primary current examples. The high frequency resonance is shifted by an order of magnitude higher therefore improving the mid-band frequency response of the current transformer.
