The Axion Dark Matter Experiment (ADMX)
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
The axion is a compelling wavelike candidate for dark matter motivated by the Peccei-Quinn solution to the strong-CP problem of particle physics. The axion haloscope is the most promising experimental technique to search for dark matter axions, and after decades of development the ADMX experiment is now exploring well-motivated mass and coupling parameters for dark matter axions. I will discuss the development of the axion haloscope, the current status of the ADMX search, and prospects for future axion dark matter detectors.
