Lightsources for Africa, the Americas, Asia, Middle East and Pacific (LAAAMP): Promoting Advanced Light Sources and Crystallography Research & Training Hubs in Developing Countries
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
We describe LAAAMP’s efforts to promote the use of advanced light sources and crystallography in developing countries. One of its major efforts, the FAculty-STudent (FAST) Team Program,
sends faculty and graduate students for up to four months to one or more of 17 partnering synchrotron light sources and X-ray Free-Electron Lasers around the world. Another major effort is the establishment of crystallography research and training hubs in strategic locations in developing countries. We summarize these and other activities and offer projections for the future.
