Model Enhanced Virtual Diagnostics for the AGS at BNL

Abstract
New diagnostics to improve the accuracy of emittance measurements are critical to the optimization of polarization in the accelerator chain at Brookhaven National Lab in support of the Electron Ion Collider. Our efforts are aimed at the Alternating Gradient Synchrotron and specifically the ionization profile monitors used to measure the beam size and subsequently the beam emittance. We present novel methods of merging physics simulations of the IPMs machine learning methods to improve the IPMs for use in optimization of the accelerator chain.
