The effects of a loose barrel on a two-stage gas gun.

Abstract
Maintaining the equipment used for experiments is something that cannot be overlooked. When there is an issue with equipment, in this case gas guns, data becomes unusable. Surprisingly enough that bad data could help diagnose whatever deficiency is in the equipment, which is what we discovered. We were starting to see deficiencies in the data we were getting out of our two-stage gas gun but weren't sure what the issue was. It could've been from the projectile wrap around gas, faulty scopes, or bad sensors but we couldn't tell. As the data became worse, we started to narrow things down by looking at the data. From studying the data, we concluded there was an excess amount of vibration in the end of the barrel. Next was to see where this vibration was coming from and what was causing it. We started to check the structure the gun is mounted on going over every part. At the barrel clamp on the end of the gun every bolt had come loose and was allowing the very end of the barrel to move.
