Improving the Thermal Electronic EOS model

Sesame EOS models at Los Alamos National Laboratory are usually created by dividing the problem into 3 parts: the cold curve, thermal ion, and thermal electronic contributions. In this talk we review the recent efforts to improve the thermal electronic treatment. We start by discussing the Green’s function based average atom model Tartarus, which is a numerical improvement over the legacy Inferno model. We then discuss physical improvements to this model by including the multiple scattering effect and look at some applications.
