Computational Physics in the Undergraduate Curriculum
ORAL
Abstract
Computational thinking is an increasingly important and valuable habit of mind to cultivate among undergraduate physics and astronomy majors, especially in the era of machine learning and AI. I will discuss the history of incorporating computation into our undergraduate physics and astrophysics curricula at the University of Georgia, some of the difficulties involved, and directions for future improvement.
