A shock amplification platform for equation of state studies of ICF relevant materials - Accessing multi-terapascal pressures on two-stage gas guns and pulsed power drivers.

Abstract
We present experimental data from various materials, demonstrating the ability to achieve multi-TPa sample pressures and report EOS measurements relative to a quartz standard. This breakthrough significantly enhances the pressure capabilities of gas gun and pulsed power experiments, providing a key bridge to inertial confinement fusion (ICF) research. Furthermore, it enables direct cross-platform comparisons with high-power laser facilities, such as Omega and NIF, expanding the scope of HED studies.
