Investigations into the geometry of quasi static shear specimens
ORAL
Abstract
A number of 3D printed specimens were produced on a UV cure resin printer to examine the effects of geometry on behaviour under quasi-static loading in an Instron. Samples were monitored using digital image correlation in order to determine the extent to which failure occured in shear. Through several iterations it was possible to improve the design and give some insight into important parameters for future specimen designs.
