Verification and Validation of the AWSD Reactive Flow Model in the xRage Code

Abstract
This work details the validation of the Arrhenius-Wescott-Stewart-Davis (AWSD) reactive flow model in Los Alamos National Laboratory's xRAGE (X-division's Radiation Adaptive Grid Eulerian) code. Simulations were conducted in xRage for a range of experiments including gas-gun, cylinder, and corner turning experiments to validate the performance of the AWSD model coupled with a Davis reactant and product equation of state. Where appropriate code-to-code comparisons with other LANL simulation codes, FLAG (arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian) and PAGOSA (Eulerian), and prior verification and validation efforts are also presented.
