The influence of Al substitution and high-speed impact treatment in Al-Ti-V-Cr
POSTER
Abstract
Al-Ti-V-Cr is a single Body Centered Cubic (BCC) solid solution, which exhibited low wear coefficient and excellent wear resistance. Previous studies have investigated the differences in physical properties of high-entropy alloys as a function of Al content. However, there have been no studies on the effect of impact hardening on AlxTiVCr. In this study, the relationship between the change in structure of the alloy by varying the amount of Al in AlxTiVCr and its behavior after impact was investigated. The Vickers hardness of the samples increased after impact regardless of the Al content, with a 35% increase in Vickers hardness at 30 GPa for x = 4. This may be due to work hardening caused by structural defects induced in the sample by the impact.
