Detection of Counterfeit Electronic Components Using a Simple Circuit
POSTER
Abstract
Counterfeit electronic products are a major concern for the electronic supply chain. A few of these major issues consist of 1) malicious modification of the electronic products, 2) destructive reverse engineering to get critical information from the device, and 3) cloning and replication of the electronic devices. To address these issues, we have created a simple method using an Arduino to test integrated circuits (ICs) to verify the authenticity of these electronic products. We also used a high-resolution Inspex 3 digital microscope for visual inspection of the ICs.
