An investigation of Be-class stars through small-telescope spectroscopy
POSTER
Abstract
We present observations of high-resolution spectra of 10 bright Be-stars obtained at The College of Idaho observatory using a 35.5 cm Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope and a LHIRES III spectrometer during the summer of 2023. Cursory examinations of the Hα spectra profiles show various structures including asymmetric double-peaks and emission-absorption variations. Our analysis for several stars shows rapid rotation rates for the Hα emitting regions of their circumstellar disks. We observed no emission for stars HD 138629, HD 138749, and HD 199629 suggesting a change to the emitting regions of their stellar disks.
