Nuclear Structure at the TRIUMF-ISAC Facility
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
The TRIUMF-ISAC radioactive beam facility is a unique facility that can produce high-intensity, pure radioactive ion beams. Research at ISAC covers a number of areas in nuclear physics, include nuclear structure, nuclear astrophysics, and fundamental interactions. Topics within these include the evolution of shell structure, shape coexistence, stellar nucleosynthesis, and tests of fundamental symmetries.
This talk will give an overview of the TRIUMF-ISAC facility, with an emphasis on the nuclear structure research carried out at ISAC-I and ISAC-II using the GRIFFIN and TIGRESS gamma-ray spectrometers. I will provide an overview of the GRIFFIN and TIGRESS facilities as well as highlight some recent results from the nuclear structure campaigns of the two facilities.
