Proton Spin Structure & Polarizabilities in the Strong QCD Regime

ORAL

Abstract

The proton’s spin structure is still not well understood, especially in

the low Q2 regime where the correlation between quarks becomes

significant. This talk will present the results of the Jefferson Lab E08-027 (g2p)

experiment, the first ever measurement of the proton’s g2 structure

function in the low Q2, strong QCD regime. This talk will also discuss

the experimental and analysis process of the experiment, and present

several Polarizabilities derived from the measured structure functions

which are directly compared to calculations of Chiral Perturbation Theory

and serve as a benchmark for future low Q2 effective theories of QCD.
