Random circuit sampling revisited: Part I
ORAL
Abstract
Random circuit sampling (RCS) is the leading benchmark for quantum computers to achieve performance beyond classical computing capability. Ever since the first proposal in 2016 and the first experimental demonstration in 2019, there have been continued investigations of both experimental and theoretical RCS. Meanwhile, it has also been challenged by the advancement of classical algorithms. We will cover progress on RCS on both fronts.
