Imaging Room-Temperature Magnetic Skyrmions in Pt/Co/Cu Multilayers while simultaneously measuring the Hall effect
ORAL
Abstract
Magnetic skyrmions are a leading candidate for next-generation storage technology therefore their motion is of great interest. Here we report the observation of room-temperature skyrmions in epitaxial Pt/Co/Cu multilayers grown on insulating substrates using Magnetic Force Microscopy (MFM) as well as their imaging while simultaneously measuring the Hall effect. To perform imaging in the presence of current flow in the sample, we developed microwave electronics for delivering for fast current pulses with less than 10 ns rise/fall time for MFM experiments. The results of the experiments will be discussed.
