Thermalization of Non-Fermi Liquids
ORAL
Abstract
We study general aspects of thermalization of Non-Fermi Liquids (NFLs) using bosonization. Nonlinear bosonization offers both perturbative and non-perturbative tools to approach NFLs. While typical strongly interacting fixed points are expected to exhibit "Planckian thermalization", i.e. a local equilibration of the order of the inverse temperature, we find that the extended Fermi surface of NFLs leads to parametrically sub-Planckian relaxation of certain excitations, acting as a bottleneck to the thermalization of NFLs.
