Investigation of quantum materials using p-block fluxes
POSTER
Abstract
Exploratory single crystal growth of intermetallic compounds opens the possibility for discovering new materials with interesting physical properties, such as superconductivity, topology, thermoelectricity, etc. Current investigations involve the use of p-block metals and metalloids as either passive or active fluxes for discovering ternary compounds with rare-earth and transition metals. Here, we report on the synthesis, structural characterization via x-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy, and exploration of physical properties of new materials.
