Neutron Scattering Study of the Quantum Magnet SrCu2(BO3)2 at High Pressure
ORAL
Abstract
We present the results of our latest high-pressure neutron scattering study of the frustrated quantum magnet SrCu2(BO3)2. This material has attracted considerable interest as a realization of the exactly solvable Shastry-Sutherland model. Several new phases including a novel four-spin plaquette singlet and AFM phases have been identified recently. We will discuss our new findings regarding the surprising dynamics of the high-pressure AFM phase above 4 GPa as well as relations between the magnetic properties and the structural changes.
