Optimized modulation doping in 2D materials
ORAL
Abstract
The ability to precisely manipulate electrons in two-dimensional materials provides a route to new phases and band engineering, and it is crucial for designing novel devices. A new approach for controlling the properties of 2D materials is the use of crystalline acceptors or donors for modulation doping. However, one must address the appropriate choice of material, reduce the disorder in the charge transfer, and develop the proper method to fabricate high-quality devices. In this presentation, I will discuss our recent development of techniques to solve these problems, which are applied during transfer, fabrication, and characterization, therefore optimizing the procedure of realizing modulation doping in 2D materials.
