Effect of the Rashba Spin-orbit coupling on Some Dynamic Electronic Properties of Two-dimensional Semiconductors
POSTER
Abstract
We present both theory and computational results for the transmission probability of a charged particle across a potential step in the presence of a Rashba spin-orbit interaction. In particular, we examine the conditions under which there could be Klein tunneling which is a phenomenon that has long been of interest to both experimentalists and theoreticians. We also determine Green's functions from which we deduce the spectral functions. These latter quantities are then employed to calculate the frequency-dependent optical conductivity. The dependence of the optical conductivity on the spin-orbit interaction coupling and step height will be investigated.
