Optically- and thermally-driven huge lattice orbital and spin angular momenta from spinning fullerenes
POSTER
Abstract
In this presentation, we present our latest results on how to generate strong lattice orbital and spin angular momenta from fullerenes. Spinning fullerenes are naturally phonon spin angular momentum generators. We show that a laser pulse is able to inject a significant amount of angular momentum, with values reaching over 100 $\hbar$. This paves the way to phononic control of electronic spin and harvesting thermal energy through phonon angular momentum. More results can be found from our latest publication.
