Anomalous quantized plateaus in two-dimensional electron gas with gate confinement

Abstract
The even denominator 3/2 fractional quantum Hall plateau has been reported in a regular two-dimensional electron gas with gate confinement at a bulk filling factor of 5/3 [1]. Besides the 3/2 plateau, a series of unexpected plateaus with similar gate confinements are observed in our experiments at different bulk filling factors. All of these plateaus are quantized to a fraction of quantum resistance (h/e2) within 0.02% to 0.05%. The appearance of these anomalous plateaus and their relationships to bulk filling factors will be discussed in this talk.
