The influence of electric fields' direction on water desalination performance

Abstract
Using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, a nanoporous membrane is exposed to the vertical and horizontal electric fields. This project aims to investigate the influence of the electric fields’ direction on ion separation and water desalination performance. These results might help for better control of the water transport through the membrane and for the design of efficient nanoporous membranes.
