A direct Thermoelectric Energy Conversion of a Drinking Bird Motion
ORAL
Abstract
A drinking bird (DB) also known as a dipping bird is an interesting and amusing toy, swinging back-and-forth like a simple pendulum. We discuss a technique to extract electric energy from the DB’s motion, which is termed as thermoelectric energy generation (TEG) technique by employing solutions of a thermomechanical model of a drinking bird (DB) [1].
A disk-magnet electromagnetic induction (DM-EMI) is used to extract electric energy from the sensible motion of a drinking bird. The application of DM-EMI to heat engines as mechanoelectric energy conversions and extracted electric currents and voltages are specifically shown from the model calculation [2]. It will help environmental energy-saving and conservations as one of energy harvesting technologies (EHT).
