Leveraging Quantum & Quantum-Inspired Tools for Near-Term Impact
ORAL
Abstract
The interplay between quantum physics and AI/ML has led to a number of fruitful advancements. Experts in both fields will have to come together to make the next set of breakthroughs. I will review some recent progress, as well as opportunities for impact in the near future. Examples include tensor networks for machine learning, possible uses for today's quantum computers, and the larger arena of quantum technologies. Stefan Leichenauer received his PhD in high energy theoretical physics from UC Berkeley, and was a postdoc at Caltech and UC Berkeley. After leaving academia he entered the quantum industry, and is currently the lead research scientist on the Sandbox@Alphabet team working at the nexus of physics & artificial intelligence
