Toward Accurate Short-Range Physically-Derived Models for Charge in Molecular Dynamics Simulations

A smeared-charge model is presented pursuant to the inability of partial point charge models to capture short-range screening effects; the importance in molecules with deep potential wells among numerous molecules for which rough dynamical intuition fails is discussed.
