Dynamic local-field correction for the one-component plasma

POSTER

Abstract

The density response function of the one-component plasma has important applications, e.g., in the calculation of stopping power or wave spectra. It can be expressed in terms of the dynamic local-field correction (LFC), which contains all effects that are not accounted for in a mean-field description. In this contribution, the complex response function and the dynamic LFC are computed from molecular dynamics simulations. The calculation is based on the fluctuation-dissipation theorem, which links the imaginary part of the response function to the dynamic structure factor, and the Kramers-Kronig relations, which is used to obtain the real part.
