Use of Scilab-Xcos Models for Physics Education in Undergraduate Programs

Scilab X-cos based models have been designed for the learning and teaching of various concepts and principle of physics. These models can also be utilized for designing virtual lab experiments. The advantages of using a model-based simulation environment and its limitation have also been presented. The comparison with conventional teaching and laboratory method with Scilab based model method is also given in the paper.
