Heat transfer of low-density styrenic foam

Abstract
The heat transfer characteristics of extruded styrenic foams with various carbonaceous additives were reported. The effects of cellular morphology and type of additives on the thermal conductivity of the foams were analyzed with a predictive model. The total thermal conductivity as well as hemispherical reflectance and transmittance were measured. Comparison between the theoretical and experimental results was made to assess the performance of the predictive model.
