Transport and Dynamical Properties of Two-Dimensional One Component Plasma

POSTER

Abstract

We present a new theoretical model based on Fick’s law for calculating the diffusion constant for a two-dimensional (2D) one-component plasma in the presence or absence of magnetic field. Both 1/r and ln(r) potentials are employed in conjunction with various values of coupling parameters. Our model predicts diffusion constants in agreement with recent simulation results. We also present detailed comparison of our results with those obtained from other theoretical models. Additionally, we compare our transport coefficients for the 1/r and ln(r) potentials for 2D systems.
