Physicists' Involvement in AI and AI Ethics
Invited
Abstract
Physicists in many subfields are increasingly employing Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence techniques in their research; furthermore, in some cases physics principles and research are informing the development of new algorithms and learning methods. Physics and AI are now inextricably linked and thus physicists must critically consider the broader impact of AI developments on people and society. This talk will summarize current areas of physics-informed AI research and will provide suggestions and context for how physicists can meaningfully engage in these discussions.
