Phonon Fano effect in RIXS across a CDW instability

Abstract
I this talk I will present a theory for resonant photoexcitation of phonons using x-ray inelastic spectroscopy. I will show how the strength of electron-phonon can be characterized in a momentum dependent way, and demonstrate how the phonon-continuum lineshape displays a characteristic Fano effect as an incipient charge density wave state forms.
