A Clifford Algebra Description of Polarization Optics

ORAL

Abstract

The polarization changes induced by optical components are represented as Clifford algebra transformations. This yields a unified formalism for polarized and partially polarized light and for the frequency dependence of polarization in the presence of polarization mode dispersion and polarization dependent loss.
