Deformations of 2D Random Elastic Networks

Abstract

We study the linear and nonlinear behavior of random 2D elastic networks at the desktop scale. We demonstrate how to fabricate random networks and characterize them with the lattice coordination number Z. We investigate experimentally if there is a relation between the mechanical response and the lattice coordination number Z of the network.
