Supported conical defects

In this work we study the elastic equilibrium configurations of a hyperbolic conical defect (a flat disc with a single negative Gaussian curvature condensation), supported on a rigid plane. Originating from the study of strictureplasty, this problem which seems to be a natural extension to the D-cone problem displays a distinct behavior.
