Spectroscopy of Nanoparticles

ORAL

Abstract

We present results for the analysis of particle size, geometry, and density based on laser spectroscopy. The range of applicability of the technique is comparable to dynamic light scattering, but with approximately six orders of magnitude higher sensitivity (down to ~ 1000 particles/mL). We discuss results for a variety of particle types including metal, polystyrene, and metal-oxide particles, and organisms including viruses and bacteria.
