Globalizing Science and Engineering

In this talk I will review recent trends in Science and Engineering Research and Education in an increasingly interconnected, ``flat'' world. The enormous economic transformation being fueled by technology will, over a period of time, lead to new models of interaction among universities, industry and governments. Scientists and Engineers in ``emergent'' countries may be expected to play a key role in this ``new'' world order.
