Instabilities of ordered chiral active suspensions
ORAL
Abstract
Suspensions of actively contractile or tensile filaments with simple orientational order are hydrodynamically unstable. Here we study, analytically as well as numerically, the manner in which the presence of cholesteric order competes with this instability.
