Carbon Nanotubes as Nucleobase Sensors

We compute the conductance change of a carbon nanotube when one nucleobase is adsorbed. Different bases cause similar, but potentially distinguishable, conductance changes. We discuss possible applications of this effect in DNA sequencing.
