Magnetic and structural studies of double perovskites La(2-x)Sr(x)RuCrO$_{6}$

Abstract

The B-site ordered double perovskites La(2-x)Sr(x)RuCrO$_{6}$ were prepared using solid state reaction. X-ray powder diffraction showed all specimens to be single phase. The best structural model is a cubic structure with space group Fm-3m, in which RuO6 and CrO6 octahedra are alternatively located (rock salt type). Samples with 0$\le $x$\le $1 show antiferromagnetic behavior with T$_{N} \quad \sim $ 300K. Anomaly, which may result from charge-ordering, is observed below T$_{N}$.
