Simulation studies of Monolithic CMOS Si sensor with gain layer for timing measurements

ORAL

Abstract

A Large Ion Collider Experiment (ALICE) at CERN is an experiment to understand the properties of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP). The experiment will be upgraded from 2032 to 2035, and ALICE3 will begin in 2035 with new detectors. In ALICE3, the time of flight (TOF), which will be made of Monolithic CMOS silicon sensor, will be used. The goal is to achieve the timing resolution of 20ps. Simulation studies were performed using Garfield++ and the results will be shown in this presentation.
