MiPhysStories: Sharing successes and expanded opportunities in nuclear science
ORAL
Abstract
There have historically been few opportunities for students from minority backgrounds to engage in world-class nuclear science research. Expanding access to research opportunities diversifies the intellectual infrastructure of nuclear science. We explore the effect of this expansion of opportunities through interviews with student and PI researchers already in the field, as well as the success stories of two recent graduates from the Texas Research Expanding Nuclear Diversity (TREND) program.
