Potassium condensates in optical tweezers

POSTER

Abstract

We present progress on the construction of a compact, ultracold neutral potassium machine which will combine the high precision spatial control of optical tweezers with the creation of degenerate quantum gasses. The experiment aims to condition the coherent Raman transfer of spin population in small Bose-Einstein Condensates (BECs) on the presence of Rydberg excitations, and will leverage dispersive imaging techniques to non-destructively image the BECs. With these capabilities we aim to explore fundamental new directions in quantum interactive dynamics and quantum thermodynamics. We also present progress on a measurement of the magic wavelength of Potassium 39 at 1227 nm.
