Search for Higgs boson decays to a dimuon resonance and missing transverse momentum at ATLAS

ORAL

Abstract

Exotic decays of the Higgs boson not predicted in the Standard Model (SM) are well-motivated by theoretical arguments including the hierarchy problem and dark matter. In this study, we search for a model motivated by a supersymmetric decay of the Higgs boson that decays to a scalar particle and non-interacting particles. Non-interacting particles are reconstructed as missing transverse momentum. We present a search strategy for the case where the scalar decays to a dimuon resonant final state.
