Support for High Dimensional Field Transfer Operations for Fusion Coupling in PCMS
POSTER
Abstract
Fusion whole device models present unique challenges requiring tight coupling of a wide range of exascale enabled codes with different numerical methods, partitioning schemes, coordinate systems, geometric discretizations, etc. The Parallel Coupler for Multimodel Simulation has been developed to address these needs and has been utilized for a number of fusion coupling applications. This poster will describe the current state of PCMS parallel control and field transfer methodologies. It will also emphasize extensions that have been made to perform GPU accelerated field transfer through the five-dimensional distribution function. Additionally, it will provide an example coupled simulation that utilizes the distribution function from the GNET neutral beam injection code in GTC.
